Saturday was a beautiful, sunny day and we decided to go on one of our adventures and visit a new beach that is close to our new house. We went to Ocean Beach Park in Lompoc, CA. We were surprised by how secluded the area was, reminded us of Jalama Beach, which is just a little further south. It's a real windy beach and it was cold, although the temperature in the city was in the 70s.
This beach is closed from March through September due to the Endangered Species Act, so we were happy that we drove over there this weekend, since we won't be able to go back again for some time. The bird Snowy Plover is breeding during this time and is protected.
Ocean Beach Park is near Vandenberg Airforce Base , where the Space Shuttle will land in emergencies, and there is an Amtrak station there. The beach is called "Surf Beach".

Just as we were walking down to the beach, we ran into some new friends! You can never have too many friends!

Here's a few videos of me running on the beach with Toby and Priscilla. Chuck wanted to capture Priscilla "prancing". She's so pretty when she walks and has so much personality. I wish these were more close up, but, hopefully you will enjoy seeing both Toby and Priscilla. Toby loves it by the water and we're glad that Priscilla seems to share this with him. Elvis, on the other hand, prefers to stay in the bag with Chuck. He doesn't like getting too close to the water.
